Heat!

(Wow - changes with Blogger - I'm getting tired of learning new things! -- I've edited it 6 times, and that's enough - still not like I wanted it. Wah, wah, wahhhh - Tooooo hot!)

Quilts for Kids (below) - finished and mailed off!
Quilt show this weekend - wouldn't you know, it's hot as hxxx, and the quilt show location, unfortunately, has no air conditioning.  For years, we've tried to rectify this situation, to no avail. Each of the guild members are required to work for some time - this year for the first time, I've had to say I can only work at the Reception Table where not much effort expended-- It's just too hot. The Show is held in conjunction with Oregon Trails Day, a big event in the Nebraska Panhandle, with many events happening as well. We'll be in the upper 90s.  Think of us hot gals while you are inside your Air Conditioning.

I am airing my quilts before delivery to the Quilt Show -- I'm not expecting any accolades but DO want to show these quilts. You never know when someone will be inspired. The small center item is a Challenge quilt by Jody (Goddess) who is unable to attend.
I spent a day with my friend Chell of creativequiltingwithlove.blogspot.com/ (can't figure how to do the link thing any more!),

and started another Kaleodoscope. The "ring" on the block is made by sewing it in the center of the strata, and the strata must have an odd number of strips, all of the center strips must be of equal size. My top, and bottom strip are wider.

Look at all the projects Chell has on that table!

Nice blocks - I don't do hot weather well either so try to do my gardening in the mornings. It is 99 degrees here with very high humidity. I heard this morning we were to have a heat index of 115. Try to stay cool and hydrated.

Oh, the pineapple quilt is just gorgeous!!! So sorry you are so hot - wish you could come visit me in San Francisco, where it is cool today - we are snuggled up inside with socks on! Kathleen

The pineapple quilt is my favorite, too. It's beautiful!

I don't deal well with change and quickly changed my blog default back to the original. The new dashboard is just too white - my eyes need more contrast.

I'm sure people will be inspired! They are wonderful quilts. Your work day looks like fun and I love the colors of your kaleodoscope blocks! We are in Montana now and up until now, our trip over the last 2 months has been cool, but today it is hot! We don't want to be hot - if we did we could have stayed home in Texas!!

We have had days of over 100 degrees and I am so tired of it. At least we have passed the midpoint of summer so there is hope for cooler days ahead. I only get out in the morning if at all possible to water plants and do any errands. I have been enjoying all your posts on the
kaleidoscope patterns. I think you have shared before what the ruler is you use but I cannot find it. Would you let me know what it is or share on your blog. They are so interesting and I am working up the courage to try one! Enjoy your blog and life from Nebraska. Have never been there. quiltinggranna

Hello from Florida (I'm surfing quilt blogs).

Wow!! The quilts you were taking to the show are gorgeous! I love your pineapple, and am hoping to find a post to see the further-back quilt a little better. Perfect quilts for sharing at a show!
