This is my next project to quilt on my DSM. It sure looks better in the photo than in a pile in my living room! It's about 76" x 86", and only pin-basted here. From Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville.com, who calls hers Texas Tumbleweed. I might rename mine something like Nebraska Wind. I LOVE those long diagonal green paths. The orange was "iffy" but I've learned that every quilt I make profits from something "iffy".
I am a quilter - a retired widow living in the Nebraska Panhandle. I am surrounded by beautiful semi-arid ranch country, and treeless hills and fields under incredibly wide blue skies, located far from the upheaval found often in large towns or cities. I am blessed to have delicious time to quilt and to appreciate my peaceful moments in an unpeaceful world.
OH I love it! I especially like your constant greens...it just makes the diagonal movement even better. Love it!
ReplyDeleteOh this looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteA pinch of iffy in a quilt is the ingredient that makes it pop! Your quilt turned out nicely, Elaine. (Please show a closeup of the quilting, per your discussion on the Yahoo group.)
ReplyDeleteWhatever you name it, this quilt does have great movement.
ReplyDeleteI like to think of the "iffy" as more of a "sparkle". :)
Wow! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a stunner -- have fun with the quilting!
ReplyDeleteYum! You did it again... another beauty!
ReplyDeleteYes! It is definitely the "Nebraska Wind"!
