I'm still here, and am busy making preps for a Trunk Show and also leading a Strip and Slash class in 10 days and I don't want to post new/ongoing projects just yet. I cornered a friend into taking some photos from the Trunk Show - hope they turn out OK. Many of the quilts to be shown have been posted on this blog.
I'm packing for our upcoming All Day Sew and I've decided I want to make something scrappy like this one again. Good grief - I give them away and then miss them so much that I need to remake them? I'll probably break down some triangles into smaller ones. It looks like I used a 60 degree angle ruler in the body but that border looks like a Tri-Recs size. (New sewists - Note - the 2 versions of triangles are not interchangeable but only appear to be the same.)
I do the same thing, give them away and then miss them. I have remade many, some with the same fabrics, some with a different group of fabrics.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear from you again. That quilt is so nice; it is worth doing again, and again. Enjoy your trunk show. ;^)
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt. I have missed some of mine, but never made them again :-S
ReplyDeleteThis looks so much like a simplified version of 1,000 Pyramids, with a deliberate setting. Very cool (ha--notwithstanding the snowy background)!

Didn't you and I have a conversation about YOUR stunning project? I'm coming over for another visit!
DeleteThat quilt is definitely worth a remake!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great design and the outer border complements it perfectly. Are you traveling far for the trunk show?
ReplyDeleteI haven't been posting much or even browsing for a while. My excuse is just being very busy and quilting is a large part of it. I was happy to see a new post from you - the first one I clicked on! You are sure busy - good for you! That quilt is very cute! I'm working on a quilt for one of my grandsons who is graduating from high school next month. I'm just about finished with the top and have quite a bit of fabric left that I will put on the back and then I'll quilt it. I always remember the help you gave me when I wanted to learn how to quilt my own quilts. And I have been doing it since then!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from a quilter on her DSM. I always think that is the best part of making a quilt and am sorry man others do not want to try it for themselves. It's like dancing with my hands. 8-)))
DeleteTrunk show and teaching a class? Do you need something to do? LOL
ReplyDeleteThose who will benefit from your sharing and instructing are lucky to have you. You always make such beautiful scrap quilts. The triangle quilt in this post is just one of many examples.
Let us know how your trunk show and class go, please!
Will do - a friend will take photos. I've done Shows before but still needed to make some new items.
DeleteThis one is gorgeous and well worth making again!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteI am envious of those who get to take a class from you!
