I am a quilter - a retired widow living in the Nebraska Panhandle. I am surrounded by beautiful semi-arid ranch country, and treeless hills and fields under incredibly wide blue skies, located far from the upheaval found often in large towns or cities. I am blessed to have delicious time to quilt and to appreciate my peaceful moments in an unpeaceful world.

DD progress - 4 blocks
So far, so good! I'm thinking it could use some pale melon lights, to brighten it up a tad.
Suggestion - If you're just starting, pay attention to accurate measuring of those square in a squares. After that, it's all easy!
I counted the number of pieces -- oh my, good thing I didn't know at the onset or I would have been scared away from doing this beauty!

I really like your color palette! that's why I never do Bonnie's patterns....waaayyyyy too many peices!
ReplyDeleteI like what I see. I just forget about the pieces, the end product is worth it.
ReplyDeleteyep measure twice cut once.
ReplyDeleteWay behind with my blog reading and an email is due to wing its way to you in the next few days.
What a gorgeous design. I'm not doing the mystery but tempted to try it now that I see what it looks like. Your color choices are very nice.
ReplyDeleteAmazing how those double nine-patches can transform another block! This is looking very good!
ReplyDeleteI didn't sign up for this one (too many UFOs already) but am tempted when I see how good it looks.
It looks perfect...does not need brightening. I'd like to try your making of laundry soap.
ReplyDeleteXOXOXO Subee
It really is a beauty. Had to laugh, I read "DD" as "Darling Daughter"! Hmmmm....did she walk 4 blocks?? ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are getting so much done! That mystery quilt is lovely. Wish I had done it too but since I still have one flimsy and no plans for quilting it from Quiltville, I bypassed. Will be looking forward to seeing how this gets quilted.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric you chose to make this mystery quilt with!! It is going to be spectacular.
