I'm in a rush this morning, and look at my silver bracelet! Yikes! Ugly! Tarnished!
My quick fix -- so far, any brand I've used works just fine. A little dab will do ya! Spread it all over your fingers and mush it around the bracelet (don't mush it on the digital camera!) Rinse and voila!
Nice bracelet, esp all nice and shiny like that!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the jewelry cleaning tip... nice bracelet.
ReplyDeleteHey now, I am a dental hygienist. I will have to remember this trick and advise my patients of another use for toothpaste, especially when I tell them they really don't need it to brush their teeth with.
ReplyDeleteWell, isn't that interesting! Thanks for the tip. I think I'll go try it right now!
ReplyDeleteWOW, I'm going right now and see if the brand I use will work on my Pandora Bracelets they look a mess! If not I'm buying your brand tomorrow when I make my Wal-Mart run.
ReplyDeleteThis does work great - I've done it for years. One caveat - if you have silver jewelry with "antiquing", for lack of a better word, that decorative oxidizing that is done on parts of the design to highlight it, this will take the oxidizing off too, so be careful. I had some Mexican silver rings that the toothpaste cleaned a little TOO well!
ReplyDeleteLovely bracelet! I love your quilt in the last post- fab quilting!
ReplyDeleteI, too, have done this for years. Like Jan said, be careful on the decorative black 'antiquing'. Yes it will take it off.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip on the toothpaste. I used to shy away from silver, but now I keep it in a Silver Safekeeper and it doesn't tarnish.
ReplyDeleteIt is similar to this one
