I am a quilter - a retired widow living in the Nebraska Panhandle. I am surrounded by beautiful semi-arid ranch country, and treeless hills and fields under incredibly wide blue skies, located far from the upheaval found often in large towns or cities. I am blessed to have delicious time to quilt and to appreciate my peaceful moments in an unpeaceful world.

Nebraska, the Good Life
The theme for our Quilt Show Challenge was "Nebraska, the Good Life." Barb K designed this exceptional beauty with photo transferred panels, of a young'un in the corn. It's not small, either. What a beauty! Yes, she received a First Place Ribbon for this one. It's even more striking in person.

That is lovely!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I have only done one portrait one of my trio in St. Louis and then handstitched all the way around the border. I love mine, but it pales in comparison to that. That is one BEAUTIFUL quilt. Thank you so much for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteSewing with Nancy just did a series on this type of quilt. I think I could do the picture part but the frame would be lots of work for me. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh that quilt is wonderful!! What a lovely idea. It really reminds me of my childhood, standing amid the rows of high corn. It seemed like a secret world.
