This was my message when I wanted to post today.
"As you may have heard, we are sorry to share that Bloglines will officially shut down on October 1, 2010. "
Panic - even though they give me instructions to do something -- my eyes are all glazing over!
What exactly are bloglines Elaine? blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteI guess I don't know what bloglines is either.
ReplyDeleteI transitioned from Bloglines to Google Reader over a year ago. You should too.
ReplyDeleteBloglines has actually been all but completely unmaintained for several years. I noticed their mail feature silently broke, and was frustrated with that for a long time (no answer when I reported it)... then I switched to Google Reader, and was delighted.
ReplyDeleteIt's an easy transition - do it.
Switch to Google Reader, Elaine. It's great. I started out with Bloglines two yrs. ago as part of a class but switched after a couple months because of the frustrations.
ReplyDeleteAnother Google Reader switcher here. I started out on bloglines too, but the constant re"new" posts drove me nuts. And the nice thing about Google reader is that if you click on somebody who has multiple posts, it'll read them one at a time, not declare them all read at once. But there's a button to mark them all read too.
ReplyDeleteOh funny, my word verification is "havend" yup... have ended.
Two words......Google Reader! Transfered a while ago...forgot about bloglines alltogether!
ReplyDeleteElaine, I just imported my bloglines list into Google Reader. That part was easy. Now figuring out how to use Google. For the moment it's like wearing my shoes on the wrong feet. I'm sure it will get better. I hope you will find a simple solution fr your blog --I don't want to lose you!
ReplyDeleteran into that this morning as well -- but I've noticed that lately it wasn't working well, so I'll be transitioning to "something" just haven't figured out what yet.
ReplyDeleteUh oh ... I use Bloglines too, so I can see I'm going to be in the same position :(
ReplyDeletePlease switch to something - I don't want to lose you either! You are my place to go when I need a 'quilt fix' - I always know you will be doing something inspiring! See you at guild!
ReplyDeleteApparently if you "follow" someone on their blog it automatically appears in Google Reader. I have just been following with Bloglines but now will click the follow button on my favorite blogs. It may be a good chance to weed out the inactive blogs on my list. I will miss Bloglines though.
ReplyDeleteOMG you're kidding me? I use it too. I wonder how to switch to Google Reader? If you figure it out let me know. I hope we don't have to input every address individually!
ReplyDeleteElaine-I feel your pain-I got the same message-I love my bloglines. Like everyone else I have to yap about google reader-it has a layout similar to bloglines and so far seems pretty easy peasy.
ReplyDeleteIt took a bit to figure out how to import my subscriptions (click on the help button in the top corner and type in how to import) but once I found the directions it was extremely easy and fast.
If you get stuck or need more info on how to get going feel free to holler-more than happy to walk you through it. :-)
Love the Maverick Stars, Elaine. c=i will be interested to see the finished product. I think Baptist fan would work too.
