In my last post, I showed a Rebuilt Log Cabin top, that I call my "Homely Quilt." It didn't have much going for it, but I felt sure when it quilted, it would be just fine - I am right! I have 3 more wide borders only - my goodness I couldn't stop once I started quilting it!
Below are some photos of free-motion quilting in the 8 inch border. I'm liking it!
These snakey things are 2 flexible rulers I have that I use to get a similar curve on each corner and side.
I am a quilter - a retired widow living in the Nebraska Panhandle. I am surrounded by beautiful semi-arid ranch country, and treeless hills and fields under incredibly wide blue skies, located far from the upheaval found often in large towns or cities. I am blessed to have delicious time to quilt and to appreciate my peaceful moments in an unpeaceful world.
Those are handy rulers... will have to get me some..would work much better than cardboard. Love the quilting...wonderful..you are so inspirational.hugs

I love seeing your free motion quilting. It inspires me with new designs. I did some quilting today, too, and will e posting pics soon.
ReplyDeleteIt feels so good to finish a quilt. I have about 4 feet of binding one one side to finish on a double-bed sized Bull's Eye quilt.

Great job on the quilting on your latest log cabin quilt. The quilting you can do on your home machine is inspiring to say the least.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Do you use your flexi ruler for marking or follow it with your machine? I could probably use mine on my frame...never thought of it.
ReplyDeleteLoooookin' gooood!
ReplyDeleteYou look like you had a lot of fun with the quilting, another great job Elaine!
ReplyDeleteI so love that block design (I printed out your posts with the instructions). I've got that one on the project list for next year.
Beautiful quilting designs...have a short flex ruler but not a long one. Where did you get it?
ReplyDeleteI've often seen a so-so quilt become a wow quilt through the hands of the quilter. Quilting is an art that transforms the canvas (quilt) to something we often only dream. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeletegreat job on the quilting Elaine! Looks very professional, and what a good idea, those flexible thingies! Keep up the great work! Hugs, Finn
