Tutorial - No math flying geese - by Lazy Girl

I have over-simplified a Tutorial with more-than-enough photos, using the No Math, No Waste Flying Geese ruler, by Lazy Girl.  The instructions are straightforward and on the ruler.  You use 1 large square and 4 small squares for 4 flying geese units (I need twice this amount for my block).  Geese are usually the DARK fabric but in this case my values are reversed.  i.e., this light fabric will be my geese.   My finished unit will be 1 and 1/2 x 3 inches -- that's all a person needs to know, the finished size of your unit.  The photos should speak for themselves.  Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

You will have to trim off the points.
Voila!  You can really see the "T" with this value arrangement.  Kewllll!

  2. That's the method I always use, but I don't have the ruler. I can't remember how I come up with the sizes. I guess I have it written down somewhere. The T block is very interesting. When I first saw it a long time ago, I couldn't figure out how it was made, but actually, it looks pretty easy. That is, if you know how to make flying geese. I feel pretty comfortable with them now, but it took a while.

  3. Thanks for the photos. Sometimes, I forget to just trust the directions, so this is a good reminder.

  5. I like the No Waste Method for making flying geese. I don't have a ruler, either, but I have a forumula/recipe. I did not realize that there were flying geese in the T blocks. Interesting.

  6. Very nice tutorial with the photos. I have done this method without the ruler but not remember how I determined the size so the ruler would come in handy.

  7. Great tut, I've yet to use my ruler, when I'm ready, I'll mark this in my bookmarks to use. Maybe a few of these in my new BOM would look good in the border.

  8. well isn't that a new trick! love your block at the end. I bet it's fun seeing how each one comes out so different than the one before. :) That is how my "Hand Me Downs" project is... each one unique.

Gotta add this ruler to my Santa list... although you could make this with HST's I think the less seams the better.

  9. I looked at the title wrong, and first thought it said "no more flying geese. By lazy girl." I thought it was kind of funny.
