This might be 7 or 8 or 9 of similar scrappy projects. They work up quickly, and have been quite attractive with a minimum of work. I only did lights and darks and have been pleased with each of them. I started machine quilting this one early today and have about half done. Don't ya jes' love it when you get on a roll and there are no interruptions?
Happy New Year!
This is so pretty. What pattern do you use?
ReplyDeleteNo pattern, just wing it together. Center cut 2.5, logs are 1.5, sorta. Trim blocks evenly at the end. Note some logs are not same width. 8-)
ReplyDeleteI love it. Using up scraps.
DeleteJust piecing strips together, regardless of the width, and creating such a beautiful quilt is bliss. Then, quilting without interruption - what a lovely way to end the year!
ReplyDeleteWow--such impact visually from simple strips. I really love this. I was sorting strips the other day that I had set aside for a log cabin quilt. As I was stacking them by color I was telling myself I should make a log cabin quilt, but am not really feeling it. Maybe this is what I need to make instead.
ReplyDeleteI thought the alternate light/dark really "held" it all together. I've not yet tried altering the center square size on any of this design. More options for that idea. This was truly, from a friend's bag of scraps.
DeleteA fun scrap buster -- and you can recall (or not, LOL) the quilts where you first used those prints.
