I received a request for "a quilt in blues, with purples and reds," so here is what happened, in a matter of weeks! This was likely inspired by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville.com, because everything she does is so appealing. Those bold checks on the backing DID cause issues -- ya can't hide those stitches! Today I will be brave and wash it, as one red scrap showed signs of bleeding. Yes, I've learned to include Dawn in the washer. This DONE-PROJECT goes in the mail AFTER the holidays because I want to show it at next All Day Sew, in January.
(I just noticed my own shadow in my photo! )
Happy Holidays and Blessings to all!
I love those corner treatments! By the way, I'll be sandwiching my Rebuilt Log Cabin this week, hoping for a finished quilt before 2025.

Girl, you are PROLIFIC quilter - what a bunch of stunning quilts I'm seeing on your site, including that Rebuilt LC. Many of YOUR projects are on my list of "more" projects I NEED to make. Thanks for the inspiring visit - you gave me MORE ideas with your lovely projects.
ReplyDeleteWow it is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLoving this color palette. Purples and blues make such a cool soothing combination, but the addition of the pops of red make the whole thing come alive with depth and dimension. Just the right spark.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a merry Christmas, Elaine!
Oh yes! I love what you did in blue with some purple and red. I would never use a check for the backing as I know I would never be able to get it straight. You did an amazing job! Love the corner treatment too. Have a lovely Christmas and may 2025 exceeds your expectations! ;^)
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see your post, Elaine. The quilt is wonderful! The checked backing accentuates the strong grid. Merry Christmas!
