When your entire collection of fabrics seem to be ALL scraps and pieces, this is a perfect solution of what can be used. Once again, I used a ruler and suggestion from Gyleen Fitzgerald, because it's smaller than the Creative Grid version. I think next time, I'll try the larger one, just to note any difference. This is 7 x 8 blocks, 8 inch blocks with a 6 inch border., about 68 x 76 in. Note the difference made by the alternate block, with a slightly different value placement. This is my 6th or 7th Pineapple quilt.
Freeze warnings for tomorrow night - electric blanket installation time!
Oh my goodness--we're still hitting the 90s during the day here in my corner of existence. SO looking forward to the week or two we call "Winter", when I can pull down the extra quilts and snuggle under them with the cats!

You are the pineapple queen! I love the alternate layout block you used with the traditional block.
ReplyDeleteAnother beauty! Glad to have 'discovered' you!!
ReplyDeleteDid you create this design? The alternate block is great, and of course the scrappiness sings to me.
ReplyDeleteThis/these many pineapple quilts are a result of a DVD produced by retired-engineer Gyleen Fitzgerald. I was thrilled to see the "look" of the alternate block and used this technique with almost all of my pineapple projects. Bias mismatch IS present but remains unnoticeable because of thedynamic design.
DeleteHi, Elaine. This is a gorgeous quilt. I couldn't find the pineapple at first. Your designed block makes all the difference. It looks like snowballs or Christmas ornaments with sashing. It's SO cool. You are certainly having fun with that ruler. We got frost this week too but the days are so nice and just warm enough for me. Enjoy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteAnother gorgeous quilt. Looks so complicated. We are still in the 80's here. Don't expect any freeze until February. Typical for the tropics.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a striking design! Well done, Elaine!
