I found this little Teddy at the Dollar Store and he fits nicely into my recent finished kids quilt pocket. No removable parts or eyes - OK for kids. With gasoline costs, I'm staying closer to home these days and glad to have a simple Dollar Store nearby. This little guy is exactly what I wanted, so I purchased several!
This started as an ordinary Shaded Nine-Patch, meaning I was only planning on making one block. I made 100 blocks !!!!! and am close to the last of quilting it. I did have to purchase several more green FQs. I was playing with side lit photos in this clip. I'll post the entire in a few day. Lots quilty things happening. Size with borders will be about 64" x 64".

Very cute quilt. And bear!
ReplyDeleteLove the bear! I made a top from some unworn pj bottoms and one of the blocks had a hip pocket on it. . . so I put a little bear in it too! Mine had a Canadian flag on its chest and was really small, but only one of them. I should try again. Kids love these little toys as well as the quilts. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteHe makes me smile - like a sweet surprise. Even tho I put him there, I stop and smile again. 8-)))
ReplyDeleteI love the little Teddy in the pocket. So cute.
ReplyDeleteYou work miracles with traditional patterns and scraps! So impressed with this design. I've never made a shaded 9-patch, but this is the second one I've seen in just a few minutes of blog reading, and I'm wondering if I should take the hint.
You would be surprised how quickly they go together. Same goes for cleaning up the sewing table, by cutting all the leftovers into 2 1/2 in. squares. Frequently your colors already look good together because you just finished a quilt.
