This was Bonnie Hunter's/Quiltville Leaders and Enders project, a Fence Rail. Thanks Bonnie! I tend to sit down and SEW until it's DONE - prefer to NOT drag it out. There is one more border to go, then I'll bind it in black. There are parts of MANY shirts in that quilt, and a few strips that refuse to conform.
It is astonishing how many varieties of Fence Rail Quilts people come up with!
I am a quilter - a retired widow living in the Nebraska Panhandle. I am surrounded by beautiful semi-arid ranch country, and treeless hills and fields under incredibly wide blue skies, located far from the upheaval found often in large towns or cities. I am blessed to have delicious time to quilt and to appreciate my peaceful moments in an unpeaceful world.
I love the addition of the strong black and white! Really wonderful, Elaine.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it, Elaine!! And I really like your border. Think you nailed this one👍.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I love the narrow black border.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you have it pieced already!! It is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteApparently the slow growth of a leader/ender project is NOT your style. : )
Really love the checkered row. Such eye-appeal!
Oh wow! It's looking great!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the quilt and I love those borders, too!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fantastic. As your quilts always do. May your bobbin never run out...
ReplyDeleteGood looking quilt. Please tell me the black and white is a print fabric not a bunch of little squares you sewed together. Those black and white elements really make the quilt though. The lighter shirts are subtle and the black and white adds the kick. Great job.
ReplyDeleteOh, my! Those checkerboards are pieced! Well worth it - they really do make the quilt sing. This is a very lovely rendition of the design.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! The black and white checkers make the old fence rail much more interesting.
ReplyDeleteI like this quilt. The black and white squares are wonderful. Great job!
