I appears my spending and sewing activities are running along at the same rate as last year. The costs include Retreats, books, Quilt Activities, in addition to the 'regular' costs of fabric, threads. I don't count gasoline. But this is close and I'm trying to reduce it from last year, and use what I have. OK, I'm weak!

This weekend is a 3-day retreat at a lovely YMCA Lodge location, not far from my home. Originally I thought 3 days would wipe me out toooo much, but then realized that with 3 days, I'd actually have time to rest a bit. Ya think?

"I'm in Control!" -- End of year Stash Report

I've been tracking sewing costs, sewing related expenses, books, notions, and yardage in and yardage out since 2008. Kinda interesting. It's not totally accurate but close. Class and retreat costs are included, not gasoline. I include fabric given to me or won.

For those of you who REALLY buy on impulse, it helps to identify what/where/when you purchase more than you 'should'. I find this has been a good tool to keep me from becoming overwhelmed with "MORE" -- like, "I'm in Control."!

I am proud of myself for cutting expenses a whole $200.00. Not much, but better than watching that dollar figure increase.

Better sew faster ... that fabric is still piling up.

I wouldn't give you 2 cents for it until ...

What a difference a border makes!

I've been in the pits, looking at this top, getting careless in my sewing, because I could not fathom all these scraps turning into anything useful. I had visions of stashing it in the car trunk for road-side emergencies and not ever looking at it again. Another lesson to ME ... a decent border always gives an 'ordinary' quilt pizzazz!

We are expecting warmer temps this weekend - the garage is full of clumps of mud, horse manure, slop, from our outdoor wedding adventure but I still want to baste this quilt Sunday.

And below is my current Fabric Diet. I have been faithful in logging everything purchased that was sewing-related. Fabric IN is still gaining over fabric OUT, but at a slower rate than in 2008 (sounds like Federal budget conversation).
