(OK, July 3, I edited my title, from Trails End (where did that come from?) to Trails West, the name of this newest quilt.)
This lovely view was a few days ago, after our usual late afternoon "heavy storms with hail and possible tornado" warnings, but nothing serious happened - just this lovely rainbow.
Tonight I finished the binding on my plaid "Trail's West". My husband loves it, I love it, but I have no idea what to do with it. It's about 64 x 76 inches. In my hurry to get it quilted, one corner still has some paper in it -- I heard it crinkling. LOL That's me! 8-)))
I am a quilter - a retired widow living in the Nebraska Panhandle. I am surrounded by beautiful semi-arid ranch country, and treeless hills and fields under incredibly wide blue skies, located far from the upheaval found often in large towns or cities. I am blessed to have delicious time to quilt and to appreciate my peaceful moments in an unpeaceful world.

Do we really NEED a reason to keep a quilt? Throw it over a chair and admire it!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'm inspired to get out that tub of plaid shirts -- just lovely....
ReplyDeleteKeep and enjoy! Oh, the paper - a very old lady said they used to leave the paper in for more warmth, and it just "goes away" when it is washed. I wasn't going to argue with her!
ReplyDeleteIt's a stunning quilt!!! Love it and put a picture of it in my favourites!! I want to make it for sure!

Wow, I love that quilt! And your border is fablous! You always makes such great borders. So funny about the paper!
ReplyDeleteOh that quilt is absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's another gorgeous finish! I love the border. I have also heard that people used to leave the papers in for warmth; in theory I guess the papers would eventually "go away!"
ReplyDeleteWhat a great finish. I love all those plaids.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is fabulous, no wonder both you and your husband loves it! Well done! Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out so lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is wonderful! It is such a great pattern, and can look so different depending on fabrics, and block orientation. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love it, Elaine! And I just now realized that these are the same Jacob's ladder blocks Bonnie Hunter is doing for the "Floribunda" quilt along. How cool to see yours in plaid and her antique quilt in yellows. Just goes to show how versatile quilting is.
ReplyDeleteHow about you and your hubby rent a movie and snuggle up under that great quilt. Or maybe a picnic? Enjoy the fruits of your labor!!
It is a beautiful quilt and to me the perfect size for a couch quilt. I love plaid quilts and yours is awesome.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful....gives me a lovely idea for my shirting fabrics.
ReplyDeleteA great finish. I like the border treatment. You pulled that blue plaid from the center out to the border. Great design element. Congratulations on the finish.
ReplyDeleteAgain, congrats! This is superior!
ReplyDeleteWonderful border choice.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Elaine. I am partial to homespun plaids and to the Buckeye Beauty/Jewel Box block....hmmm, do I feel a quilt coming on?
ReplyDeleteLet me add my voice to the accolades. It's gorgeous!! Keep it and love it up.
ReplyDeleteWhat to do with it??? Send it to ME!!!!!! HA!
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt and the border is fantastic! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteAs you BOTH love it, it should be a keeper! Looks like a great snuggle in front of the TV quilt to me :)
ReplyDeleteTrails West makes me think of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans singing "Happy Trails To You".
ReplyDeleteElaine: please pack it up and send it to me!!! Truly...it is just gorgeous, I love it, and got mine back from the quilters this week...I know you saw it too. Fun pattern, huh?
ReplyDeleteYou always make the neatest quilts!!! Love this one. Had a chuckle over the paper.
