I am a quilter - a retired widow living in the Nebraska Panhandle. I am surrounded by beautiful semi-arid ranch country, and treeless hills and fields under incredibly wide blue skies, located far from the upheaval found often in large towns or cities. I am blessed to have delicious time to quilt and to appreciate my peaceful moments in an unpeaceful world.

Yikes
Friday's temperature.
Today, Saturday, is our Quilt Show and expected to be hotter. We will be in an unairconditioned church - I have to find the fans! Hope all us Senior Citizen quilting ladies make it through our work schedule. Hope the visitors come by.
While the subject of this post is the HEAT, look at all those lovely lines and shadows in my photo -- I love 'em!

I have an indoor/outdoor thermometer and I laid the outdoor part of it on the patio table under the umbrella. At one point it was 110. Double yikes! That location gets no breeze at all and when I moved that thermometer, the temp went down to 104.
ReplyDeleteElaine, reminds you of Tennessee, right? We are actually down in the 80's today...whew!!!
ReplyDeleteLots of fans!!! Best wishes for a successful show.
ReplyDeleteThat is way too hot for me.
ReplyDeleteOur temps are feast or famine... high one part of a day even, then a thunderstorm and dropping. Last week it was 90 one day and 55 the next. So much for adjusting... I hope that your quilt show attendees will be so enthralled by what they see that the temperature is not even noticed!
ReplyDeleteI at first thought the lines and shadows was a quilt!! Would make a nice quilt don't you think?
ReplyDeleteTake care...stay cool!!

It was 93 in Chicago yesterday and is about the same today. I haven't been in 100 or even 110 temp in about 20 years.
ReplyDeleteWe're opposite to that, about 50 here in Australia. I hate that sort of heat, not good for women my age who want to stand in the fridge.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt from your last post, it looks stunning.
The lines and shadows of your photo would make an awesome quilt! And summer hot, quilt show and no air--not a combination I would wish on anyone! Good luck!
